We have recently been successful on appeal to the Court of Criminal Appeal in having an unlawful search excluded and our client aquitted.

It has been held that it is the duty of the Court to be vigilant to esnure that unlawful conduct on the part of police is not encouraged by an appearance of judicial acquiescence.

This is an important decision in criminal law here in Adelaide and South Australia generally. Put in plain terms it means that police who overstep their lawful powers will not continue to get away with it.

Furthermore, in a separate appeal for the same client we were successful in having his sentence significantly reduced due to his poor health.
